The University of Huddersfield’s SIS research group is growing from strength to strength with new projects delivered on and new and exciting external relationships developed.
The Skin Interface Sciences (SIS) research group was formed in 2011 as a collaboration between the School of Human and Health Sciences, School of Computing and Engineering and School of Applied Sciences. The group is able to undertake research including in vitro, development of new products, testing of products and clinical research.
The vision for the Skin Interface Sciences research group is to promote research and education in the field of skin, including tissue viability, wound care, maintaining skin integrity and development of new products to promote skin integrity.
The group consists of a range of academics and researchers with expert knowledge and skills, including the fields of:
- Cell biology
- Chemistry
- Engineering
- Microbiology
- Nursing – with expertise in tissue viability, vascular, wound care and diabetes
- Pharmacy
- Podiatry
